As you neglected to say what programs, other then KDE, you are trying to use, this may not be revelent. I am running my setup as root and have not, yet, even looked into changing it (I am the only user on this box anyway). I have a Kodak CX4320 working fine, with the dock, using the following Debian packages. gphoto2 libgphoto2-2 libgphoto2-2-dev libgphoto2-port0 gtkam -- Has support for the DX6440 gtkam-gimp hotplug I found all the info required to get this setup up and running in the Docs included with the above debian packages. HTH=Hope This Helps, YMMV=Your Mileage May Vary, HAND=Have A Nice Day Wayne Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 -- Real computer scientists don't program in assembler. They don't write in anything less portable than a number two pencil. _______________________________________________________ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
