you may take a look at lineak, but i don't know if it's in woody.. it's
independent and works with every de/wm.
Thanks for the responses. The Gnome 2.4 applet I was talking about was 'acme' <http://www.hadess.net/misc-code.php3>. lineak isn't avail. in woody either.
Oh well, I'll try hotkeys and such.
