does someone know, why when writing an ISO-file with the tool "dd" to an USB- stick, this stick can not be mounted writable? Tricks like remount rw or similar do not work?
do you use sudo or root? That is needed to write to the image via dd. What works for me: I plug in my usb drive, say I find it has appeared as /dev/sdc so I do:
sudo dd if=/path/to/my.iso of=/dev/sdc status=progress bs=2M conv=sync when that completes, I follow up with: sync then when that returns, I assume it is safe to unplug the usb.
