Hello,

I'm experiencing an intermittent touchpad issue on Debian 13 "Trixie" and
would appreciate any guidance.

Device: HTIX5288:00 0911:5288 (Hantick)
Kernel: 7.0.9-1-liquorix-amd64
Session: Wayland

Problem:
The touchpad works intermittently. Sometimes it doesn't work at all after
boot. Other times it works partially — cursor moves only with two fingers,
not with one finger. Three-finger scroll works when partially functional.
Tap-to-click is unreliable.

Already tried (none worked):

    Kernel parameters: i8042.nopnp, pci=nocrs, elantech_smbus=0

    Module reload: modprobe -r i2c_hid_acpi && modprobe -r i2c_hid &&
modprobe i2c_hid && modprobe i2c_hid_acpi (works occasionally but not
permanently)

    Quirks via modprobe: i2c_hid_acpi quirks=0x8000 and hid_multitouch
quirks=0x00000400

    Kernels tested: stock Debian 13, 6.12 backports, Liquorix 7.0.9

    systemd service to reload modules at boot

I've seen kernel patch discussions about this exact model regarding race
conditions and MT_QUIRK_NOT_SEEN_MEANS_UP, reportedly merged in 6.13.3, but
the issue persists.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gustavo
