So is the focus of your efforts now #2 - how to keep using libreoffice without any contrib packages? Since Triquel have a Libreoffice package you could rebuild it in the same way they do. It may also be the case that if you used dpkg to remove the parts that are contrib (breaking dependencies) it might still work fine, then you could use "equivs" to bodge the depenencies back again.
