I have in my .vimrc:

  tomas@caliban:~$ cat .vimrc
  " Gaah. They broke my copy-pasta.
  set mouse=

(I'm surprised there's no swearing in the comment. Must've had a mild
day back then).

Replace (nothing) with r to suit your taste...
