I hadn't noticed before, but similar is happening here on the two Bullseyes I've
upgraded to 5.10.0-37, host gx78b with Radeon R5 230 1002:6779 GPU, and host
gb970
with NVidia GM107GL 10de:13ba. tty[2-6] are initially blank except for a
blinking
cursor 3 or so rows from the top and a dozen or so characters from the left. On
striking <enter>, "g" appears at left edge on the line where the cursor was, and
the cursor moves down one row in same column. With vga=791 and/or
video=1440x900@60 on cmdline, the only difference is there appear no "g"s on
left
ends of rows after one or more line feeds, and after logging in, nothing but
cursor appears no matter what I type.
On both /etc/default/console-setup contains:
ACTIVE_CONSOLES="/dev/tty[1-6]"
CHARMAP="UTF-8"
CODESET="Lat15"
FONTFACE=""
FONTSIZE=""
VIDEOMODE=
On the NVidia host, -36 kernel had never been installed, so I installed and
booted
it, and it is working as expected.
