Sorry. I think I was unclear. Most of the issues mentioned in this thread are /not/ Debian decisions, but design decisions of the (Gnu libc) resolver, which other libc impementations try to be compatible to. So I don't think there is anyone in Debian willing or even able to change this. On top of that, I have the hunch that you have some misconceptions: if I were you, I'd try to fix these before trying to convince others of things. Cheers -- t
