I have never seen this problem but I couldn't really begin searching because: 1) What does "grab a package" mean? How do you do that with apt? 2) Why can't you use apt? What kind of packages fail, and what's the error? 3) What can aptitude do in this case that apt can't? Are you using the GUI (TUI) or command line?
