I upgraded to Trixie this morning and had a problem with my dual monitors.

Only the one connected with the VGA cable was recognized even after a restart.

The other monitor is connected with a DVI cable. Even after switching cables, only the monitor connected via the VGA cable worked.

I needed to restart and manually select to use the advanced options during startup as described below:

Debian Gnu/Linux, with Linux 6.12.57+deb13-amd64 , which is default, does not recognize both monitors.

However if I manually select Debian Gnu/Linux, with Linux 6.1.0-40-amd64 works like it always has with bookworm, immediately recognizing both monitors.

I suppose this is a linux-image version problem? Possibly incompatible with my PC? Has anyone else ran into this when upgrading?

Is it safe to use Synaptic to uninstall "6.12.57+deb13-amd64" and install "6.12.43+deb13-amd64" to see if this fixes my problem?

If that doesn't fix the problem, is there a workaround to set "6.1.0-40-amd64" as default during start up instead of "6.12.57+deb13-amd64"?

Please pardon me if I sound ignorant... I don't have much experience with troubleshooting.
