i'd held off for a few updates to make sure any bugs were
sorted out before i ventured into this.

because i don't have very unusual hardware or packages
i decided to skip reading the release notes and just winged
it... oh and also i have a separate booting testing partition
that i use on a regular basis so i wasn't worried if something
got out of whack.

only thing that came up which i had to look up was how to
get the apt security update ok'd. everything else went pretty
smoothly and it was mostly me just waiting for my slow
connection to download all the bits needed.

the other thing that came up which i already know how to
deal with is when grub gets updated it messes up my own
preferences for refind instead of grub but i just use efibootmgr
to change it back and it's done.

a few hours of downloading and installing and a little cleanup
of old packages after rebooting to make sure it was all ok and
that was that.

thanks to everyone who contributed to putting the stable
releases together! :)
