Not "userspace" but "by user" i think.

I/O hang (or something like) at bad blocks for minutes before return error.
Please make image from disk by ddrescue (or gddrescue) and use them
for data. Making image with bad blocks slow but you will run it one
time.
Using disk with bad block may be possible with ext4 (mkfs with
badblocks checking) but too risky — badblocks may multiply if appear.
Using disk with bad block for swap... System may hang forever.

Filesystem depended.
Any linux in-kernel fs, vfat, iso -- native mount.
NTFS — fuse via ntfs-3g or may be native (don't know what in Trixie)
