Recently I have had problems with kernel 6.16
(https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1117449)
I wanted to check if newer kernel has this bug also so I installed:
Linux alfa 6.17.6+deb14-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.17.6-1
(2025-10-31) x86_64 GNU/Linux
and I have strange symptom.
I have local news server + local imap server, both used with gnus.
With kernel 6.17 gnus can hang after some time, during news checking
(ie. "g" key)
with linux-image-6.12.38+deb13-amd64 there is no such symptoms.
Any hints what is going on?
After "toggle-debug-on-quit", and pressing C-g during hang I got:
