Half of this growth is to blame on firmware: 107772 KiB vs. 165764 KiB. The other half happened in /pool. (One has to subtract the size of /pool/non-free-firmware from the overall /pool size because the non-free-firmware packages share storage with the packages in /firmware.) I guess the fight for a CD sized installation image will be lost soon. Worse is that Live ISOs with desktop went over the limit of 4 GiB, which will exclude FAT as download filesystem, and that exceeding the size of single layer DVD (4482 MiB) is foreseeable.
