Hi Eric! Thanks for the suggestion about keychain; I'll take a look. The alternative invoked is /usr/libexec/ssh-askpass/x11-ssh-askpass and nothing's changed there. I'm still bemused why the behaviour has changed, though; ssh-askpass has not changed at all in the last two months. Best wishes, Julian
