Were they on the same EFI system partition?
If so, they have their own directories in this partition with unique
names.

Most likely you overwrote the grub of Debian 12.

It uses the same name "debian" as the other version.
I recommend creating a separate ESP for the 2nd Debian installation to
avoid problems here.
