Subject: Question: Using USB Wi-Fi adapters with older Debian versions
Dear Debian Community,
I have a question about Wi-Fi support on older Debian releases.
If my laptop’s built-in Wi-Fi is not supported by Debian 11 or 12, is it
possible to use a USB Wi-Fi adapter during installation to get internet
access?
Are there any USB Wi-Fi chipsets or models that are known to work well
out of the box with these older Debian versions?
I would be very grateful for any suggestions or recommendations.
Thank you for your time and help,

Unsure about *during* installation, but *after* installation, yes. If
you can install with ethernet, for example, then you can tackle the wifi
installation after.
I'm using BrosTrend Linux USB WiFi Adapter 1200Mbps Dual Band 5GHz
867Mbps + 2.4GHz 300Mbps with no problems on a Dell Intel i3 7th gen
laptop running bookworm, debian 12.11. Installation was straightforward
using the proprietary drivers and instructions that came with the
package from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FCNP2VL
