I'm confused. 

You say you want to view/use a windows directory on your Linux PC, but then 
want to see the share in this PC which is a windows shortcut. 

Before anybody jumps in saying this is a debian list:    lmde is debian with a 
mint repo that provides cinnamon desktop (which is developed by the mint team) 
plus Firefox, chromium a thunderbird that I have seen in almost 2 years of 
actually noticing.  I've also seen a suggestion that somebody on debian 
recommends adding that mint repo to a debian box to get newer versions of those 
apps. NOT verified though.
