I have one Windows machine installed on a SSD with a USB
interface/thumb drive (<https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GYM5F8G>). I used
Rufus to burn the Windows image to the thumb drive. (This sort of
setup used to be called Windows2Go).

When I need to run Windows, like to update a machine's UEFI, I insert
the USB thumb drive, and boot to Windows via the USB drive. Other than
that, Windows stays locked in a drawer.

I don't run Windows via a VM. I'm not really interested in wasting the
space on a Windows machine.
