I can personally vouch for System76. I bought a Darter Pro (darp5) about 6 years ago and it's still running well. It could probably use a new battery, but other than that, it's good. I've had Pop_OS! (the default), Arch, Debian, Parrot, and now FreeBSD on it. It'll even run Windows if you have to. -- this is my clever sig.
