Apparently, ytsearch is more wide-ranging.

 yt-dlp --list-extractors

Extractors?

Anyway, it seems there's only 9 "extractors."

 yt-dlp "site_searchN:SITE_NAME:QUERY"

So:

 yt-dlp "ytsearch5:soundcloud:ambient music"

Somewhere yesterday, I saw another syntax:

 yt-dlp "scsearch5:ambient music"

would search soundcloud.

I haven't tested any of this.
