It doesn't need to be unified. The pages just need to refer to each other properly. Start with aptitude(8). Instead of talking about some "aptitude reference manual", it should just say "see apt-patterns(7)". There are several places where that change should happen. Then, for good measure, add apt-patterns(7) to the SEE ALSO section. Next, look at apt(8). The list subcommand mentions "glob(7) patterns". But that's not really accurate, is it? It should talk about apt-patterns(7) instead. And then add it to the SEE ALSO, and voila.
