That makes it sound as though you may not have the package 'libreoffice'
installed. libreoffice is a metapackage that will install all the
_required_ parts of LO. There will still be optional parts that it may
be desirable for you to also install, but that's up to you.
I don't know what you use for package management but trying installing
the metapackage 'libreoffice'. It can't hurt - if it's already installed
your installer will tell you so.
