I don't see what's so special about the first PC's disk inventory, but if you feel that's the cause of the problem, that's fine. I would just point out that you can find a log of the installation process at /var/log/installer/syslog, though I assume that you've overwritten the first installation's log by installing a second time. Reading the second installation's log might help if you encounter this problem again in future. Cheers, David.
