In my previous mail I missed the fact that there was a serious bug against Gimp (https://bugs.debian.org/1078402) which caused it to be removed from testing. You can also see this from the "excuses" section on its tracker page: Issues preventing migration: ∙ ∙ Updating gimp would introduce bugs in testing: #1078402 I guess it takes some effort to backport the upstream fix because Gimp has migrated to meson on HEAD but the 2.10.x branch is still using autotools. > > > https://tracker.debian.org/news/1569365/gimp-removed-from-testing/ > > > https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/gimp-plugin-registry/news/ > [2024-09-25] gimp-plugin-registry REMOVED from testing [1] (Debian > testing watch) > > > > https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/gimp > The VCS repository is not up to date [2], push the missing > commits. high > > lintian reports 1 error and 15 warnings [3] high > > The package has not entered testing even though the delay is over > normal > > > https://udd.debian.org/lintian/?packages=gimp > > > > gimp [4] > 2.10.38-2 > > error > source-is-missing [5] > [devel-docs/libgimp/html/libgimp-gimppaths.html] > > > > > > > > > George. > > > > On Thursday, 26-09-2024 at 06:41 Xiyue Deng wrote: > > > Joe writes: > >> On Wed, 25 Sep 2024 19:26:07 +0000 >> memorysticky wrote: >> >>> Hello, I recently did a wipe and reinstalled Debian 12. >>> One issue I'm having is, I can no longer install gimp, it seems to > be >>> missing from the repos. >>> Only thing I can find in the repos is gimp-help etc. >>> >>> Please reply back. >>> thanks >> >> Exactly what did you do?
