Hello George, Yes I also did a lot of reading and already read some of the links you sent. I however did have success with using windows with my docking station, if you read the linux mint forum link that I added in my original mail I think it is mentioned somewhere-

I will continue to use the dock because laptops now are being built with less and less ports (to me this is annoying) and this gives me no choice. Hopefully linux developers will realise that the docking stations are becoming more integral for laptop users and adjust the software accordingly.
