I do not know what the aim of the above dd statement is, as I have yet to learn 
how to make use of dd.

If the aim is to make a bootable USB then I like to use:
# cp debian-12.6.0-arm64-DVD-1.iso /dev/sdl

But I guess a micro-sd behaves differently to a USB ?
