If you can, reinstalls Debian as usual, my KDE's installation takes about 10GB:
~$ LC_ALL=C.UTF-8 df / Filesystem Type Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/ld0-lv2 ext4 28G 9.6G 17G 37% /Therefore if you don't have space need for the /home/ directory it should be fine for you.
