Just read on slashdot 2.4.24 is out to fix a local root exploit in 2.4.23.

It sounds ominously close to the whatsits that caused all the hoopla last month; be advised.
Don't forget that 2.2 and 2.6 kernels are also affected. 2.6 patches are due shortly.
