Hello, when I log in at the console as root, how is my PATH determined? If I have no `.bash_profile' file, I get:
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin/:/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11 ... but if I have even an empty `.bash_profile', it is: /usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/games Why does the mere existence of a `.bash_profile' affect the default value of PATH? Cheers. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
