Spoiler alert: there should be a point release of Bullseye about a week from now on 9th/10th October [and also a point release of Debian 10.11 at the same time] but this will only be a point release with no huge changes. If you have nothing vital on the Inspiron, maybe try a reinstall of Debian: grab a copy of the unofficial netinst including firmware from https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/cd-including-firmware/11.0.0+nonfree/amd64/iso-cd/firmware-11.0.0-amd64-netinst.iso [or the DVD if you don't want to have more software immediately available without network download https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/cd-including-firmware/11.0.0+nonfree/amd64/iso-dvd/firmware-11.0.0-amd64-DVD-1.iso ] Write the .iso image to a USB : boot from the USB. I prefer to use UEFI when available: on this vintage of laptop, it's the default option, I'm guessing. I prefer to run through a text install rather than graphical if you can so that you don't run into graphics issues. In this instance, it's Intel chipset and video so the intel firmware packages should be used. Some newer Intel laptops also may require non-free firmware drivers for sound. A clean reinstall may just solve your problems. > > I just wonder if anyone has found anything like this, and is it > Bullseye, or is it hardware.
