I found out something interesting:
I booted the Debian Woody Backstreet Ruby box this christmas morning and
lo, my side comes up in 1400x1050 instead of the usual 1240x1024.
I thought it used to do that before I ran Nvidia.
When I left fvwm it restarted X again in 1240x1024.
So I added the "IgnoreEDID" option to the Nvidia driver section and now
it of course always comes up in 1400x1050.
EDID gets confused when it is cold?
