Well, I used the RPi3 as my main computer for a long time. One had to use omxplayer, a special media player, tho, and when that run one couldn't background it and use the computer for something else, probably because it monopolized the resources in order to function at all. Now on the stationary I can use mpv which is much better. (I don't know how it is with the RPi4 in this respect.) Other than that the RPi3 as a workstation was pretty much like any Unix system I've used. But I prefer Debian (vanilla Debian) to Raspbian, which I heard is now called the RPi OS.
