We all generally agree with ideas like, "Beauty is only skin deep ..." and, "Don't judge a book by its color." Yet with all its faults, apparently all WinXP has to do is provide soothing eye-candy, and it beats OSS hands down. This is the kind of thing that just drives me nuts. I'll agree that Gnome is somewhat bloated, and that it can be bloody annoying at times trying to get it to do something differently, but ugly? And even if it was ugly, would that be sufficient reason to prefer something as poor as WinX to Gnome on $FREE_OS? If this is the standard, Mickeysoft can just get rid of everyone they have working to improve Windows as an OS (assuming they bother with this), and spend the money on eye-candy development instead. What a bizarre world this has turned out to be. -- Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
