Your smartd.conf has this: > DEVICESCAN -d removable -n standby -m root -M exec > /usr/share/smartmontools/smartd-runner ... > /dev/sdb -d ignore smartd.conf(5), on the other hand, specify that: ignore - the device specified by this configuration entry should be ignored. This allows to ignore specific devices which are detected by a following DEVICESCAN configuration line.
