It seems like yes with some work. I found an old patch for "minimal multipart handling" and it (mostly) applies to slrn 1.0.3. My rebuilt slrn seems to show Matthew Campbell's strange MIME posts without huge issues. Well, it doesn't wrap the text automatically so they are wide but otherwise fine and hitting 'W' wraps them. And also if there is an HTML part then that's still shown in base64 format.
