Use the setfont command to change your console font on the fly. Look in /usr/share/consolefonts for available choices and try them out.
I use setfont /usr/share/consolefonts/Uni3-TerminusBold32x16.psf.gz systemd sets it while booting too. I haven't figured that part out yet.
