The warning of "xkb_variant requires a string value" suggests to me that the empty string is not allowed. What happens if you remove the XKBVARIANT line from the config? Alternatively, the man page for "keyboard" suggests that leaving the entry completely null (XKBVARIANT=) is acceptable. > > Best, > Felix
