It is a basic text-based mail client. Some people do not like it because it is not Free Software. Now I use Mutt (as well as pine) which a majority of people on this use. The other option is Evolution which is a gui (not text-based -- graphical ) email client that is very slick. I'd choose one of these 3. So, do one of these three: apt-get install pine apt-get install mutt apt-get install evolution and you will be on your way! -Kev
