why would you not want to reboot? if you aren't going to use the upgrades why are you making them? if you think there are too many risks in rebooting then you perhaps should be sticking to stable. every time i start up in the morning i check updates and reboot or restart if checkrestart shows anything is using updated libraries. checkrestart is in package debian-goodies. songbird
