I don't know much about harpjs, but I can enthusiastically recommend Pelican, a static site generator written in Python. It's packaged in Debian; also packaged are Jekyll, Hugo and Lektor. I know that there are large communities of users for Pelican, Jekyll and Hugo. -dsr-
