Thanks for your reply. I will try this next time I 'l be there. However it seems a little weird to me that this would be necessary. I have used this wifi adapter in the past (Debian 6, 7 and 8 in an old laptop) and I never had to do anything like that. After installing the firmware (using a wired network connection) it just worked and I only had to put the wifi password in the network manager applet. Dalios
