Hi Enzo! Perhaps I have the same problem as you! I get the desktop frozen but not the sytem. It's to say I can get in my machine through an ssh connection but I can't do nothing with my local keyboard or local mouse. Even if I disconnect my USB keyboard/mouse and reconnect in other USB port, I can't use them.
Is that what you get? A frozen desktop, keyboard, mouse and access throug network is OK? Greetings!
