FYI, and significantly OT: I don't think that's true in the US. Not in Austin, Texas anyway. Several years ago I knew a woman down there who said she had 3 phase in her house to run her air conditioner. She may have been just kidding, but she was a pretty good techie, so I believe her. Although I have no idea how she could get that in a residential area... -- Glenn English
