No, I was awake, but after 84 years, the short term memory is gone. But that still leaves why spamd is such a spammer itself, spamming the syslog until its drowned out anything else that might be interesting. I'd guess, that at the level of incoming traffic, syslog is over 95% from spamd. If spamd was in trouble it might be interesting, but its working just fine so I could sure send it to dev / null and not miss a thing.
