:) But I have a problem with this laptop where these questions would be answered thus: Spontaneously. Intermittently. Occasional. Not mid-session. Not after dpkg-reconfigure. (And the characters typed are NULs.) "What comes out of one of the keyboards now is ^@^@^@^@^@^@" wouldn't help much in diagnosing my problem. Cheers, David.
