MSCHAPv2 seems to be an old and insecure protocol and it is probably used here to grant wifi access to old clients OSes (Win XP and al) from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wireless_network_configuration#Troubleshooting a solution could be to install https://packages.debian.org/stretch/network-manager-pptp-gnome (since you seem to use network-manager as your network manager)
