I dont recall exactly but there is a web site and program called roaring penguin for
ppoe  (if that is what you are using) and a few debian packages
(pppoe,pppoeconfig)

partition info is stored in /etc/fstab
you can simply remove or comment out anyone you dont want. It should be
obvious. If you need more help do: man mount and man fstab
if you still are confused, post your /etc/fstab file so we can comment.

there are definatley sound app - gramophile, ardor, rosengarden but not
sure of how these things works as compared to M$.
