I should have been more specific: Windows downloads the update successfully. but it cannot finish the installation for some reason and gives an MS error code, then it rolls back to the pre-update checkpoint. I have seen at least two different error codes and searched for the fix--following the published fixes hasn’t yet worked. Two very experienced Linux guys I know say the problem lies with Windows and either secure boot or UEFI, and we’re going to look into that at our Linux user group meeting on Monday. Perhaps they can fix my laptop! If successful, I will report back. Best regards, -Tom
