The first thing to do is to raise the issue with Garmin. I have done so, asking for a GNU/Linux version. At least they know and can't ignore the fact that there is a demand. The next thing to do is to STOP buying hardware requiring a Windows application. Finally for Garmin you don't need Garmin Express with all recent hardware has they are supporting Bluetooth and so you can use the Garmin Express for Mobile.
